Base Layers
From Wikiagro.com
The Base Layers tool allows to define reference layers and attributes that will enable the system to auto-complete data associated to other layers, based on geographical overlapping criteria.
This tool makes possible to perform different kinds of analyses and export them to Excel using geographical criteria filters.
First, you need to select the Manage Structures and Permissions tool
1. Select the scope for defining the base layers (either the current project or to the entire system), by selecting between the options 'of GeoAgro GIS' or 'of the Project'
2. The following window will pop up. Enter the attribute and the name of the layer that you want to define as base layer. Once you finish, click on Save.
In this example, we define the attribute “FieldName” from the “Fields” layer.
From now on, all the layers overlapping the base layer and containing the reference attribute in their structure, will have the mentioned attribute automatically auto-completed.
For example: If we add to the project a soil samples layer that contains the attribute “FieldName”, this attribute will be auto-completed because the points that represent soil samples overlap the base layer (Fields).
Once the base layer is defined, it is necessary to recalculate those layers related to the base layer, in other to have the values auto-completed by the program.
